You don’t effectively stagger without shuffle, and shuffle replaced (or rather, reverted, since that was the original design) what ISB had filled in during Legion. There was a lot of unnecessary APM that was shifted back into the actual threat rotation via Shuffle. You enjoy that design, and I felt it was hollow – sharing charges with Purify made it feel much worse though because you would prioritize ISB 99% of the time (unless you would duration cap the buff before your last charge reset). Like you said, just auto cast ISB and move on with your life.

My argument is that’s exactly what ISB was - passive Stagger. If I could tell effectively when it was important to purify, then I would more enjoy choosing between brews. I’d like to choose between brews and have brew management be important, but I say that also wanting them to fine tune the stagger ui graphic. The key to making isb an important thematic element without making it annoying might not be turning it into a shield block clone… we did that to our own brains and we hated it. We dont stress about purifying brew now because we never felt the need to make a stressful UI element for it, even though we hit it about as often. It wasnt shield block, but having a ui element counting it down as it very quickly dissipated made it feel like too much to worry about. If anything, having a WA added to the anxiety around brew maintenance. You just hit it, after you were done hitting kegsmash, blackout strike (maybe) tiger palm depending on talents, and before hitting kegsmash again. You didnt need a WA to tell you when to hit isb. One thing that is great (and has been for a while) is how easy it is to be effective as brm with no ui addons. (If you ask me, the current design of Brewmaster is incredibly dull, and simply revolves around purifying as much damage as possible.) In order to provide interesting talents and depth to the class. Ironskin Brew could instead provide a flat amount of armor, simply anything to bring back Brews sharing multiple charges.

I believe that it would be healthy for Brewmaster in the Long Term to bring back shared ability charges in some way shape and form.Įither by Making Celestial Brew have multiple (possibly weaker) charges and be paired with Purifying Brew, or by bringing back Iron Skin Brew to share charges with Purifying brew and leaving Celestial brew as a seperate powerful cooldown. In Shadowlands, the entire idea of sharing cooldowns was removed from the class, and this is a net negative to me, as the class now feels incredibly passive, with the only major interaction being between Purifying brew and Celestial Brew, which has a long cooldown. In the Past, specifically Legion and BFA, Brewmaster had tons of interesting talents and passives that revolved around Ironskin Brew and Purifying Brew sharing charges with eachother. With the annoucement of Talent Trees for 10.0, I’m very worried about Blizzard’s ability to design talents and passives for Brewmaster.
